Program Description

Athletics ACT (AACT) is excited to be running a new state-based development program in season 2020/21 in order to better identify and develop the young, emerging, athletic talent in our region. The ACT Emerging Athlete Program (EAP) will bring together athletes who have showed performance potential at Interclub, State or National level, athletes who have achieved at the ACT Schools competition and athletes from other sports that may show an aptitude to perform strongly as Track & Field athletes.

The ACT EAP program will run in November with the focus being on bringing athletes from around the region together for face to face sessions that will cover a broad range of technical skill development, with an additional educational component. Through the engagement of coaching experts, the ACT EAP is the early identification element of Athletics ACT’s performance pathway and aims to build upon your current skills and aid in your continued pursuit of success in both sport and life, and sits below the TTP in the one athletics athlete development pathway.

By identifying and engaging ACT’s best junior athletes and coaches through development and education opportunities, the EAP aims to encourage athletes and coaches to achieve their potential and strive to represent the ACT and Australia at youth, junior and senior levels.

The purpose of the EAP is to:
