During the Annual General Meeting Little Athletics ACT were pleased to confer Life Membership on David Lemon

David’s involvement in Little Athletics commenced at Ginninderra Little Athletics during the 2012/2013 season.

After just one season at the centre, he took on the role of Secretary before moving to Vice President in 2015/16.

During his time on the committee David was involved in

  • Setting up a results program & entering weekly results.
  • Assisting in planning & implementation of 40th Anniversary Carnival.
  • Computers & Timing Gates systems.
  • Weekly programs.
  • Constitution.
  • Officiating

After initially stepping away from the Ginninderra committee due to taking on a Board of Management position with Little Athletics ACT, David stepped in again as Vice President to ensure the centre was meeting all its constitutional requirements.

David has also been involved as an Official and quite often ran with his sons at the Northside Cross Country.

David’s time on the Little Athletics ACT Board began in 2014/15 as the Finance Director which he filled for four years before becoming President during the 2018/19 season. He successfully served as President until the conclusion of the 2020/2021 season, before agreeing to act as the interim Finance Director one final time.

David has also been instrumental in the current unification project to unify the sport of Athletics in the ACT.

David has spent his final season on the board of management with Little Athletics ACT ensuring the Association is in an excellent financial position and mentoring staff, which will allow the office to invest in staff and expand projects and new initiatives started this season.

David has made an enormous contribution to the ACT Little Athletics Association and he is a worthy recipient of Life Membership.
