Little Athletics is an Australian modified athletics program for children from 3 to 16 years of age. Offering a wide range of events from running, jumping, throwing and walking, events are modified to suit the age, development stage and ability of the child. With Clubs located throughout the ACT and the surrounding region of NSW, Little Athletics is the perfect way to improve your running technique for the AFL and Soccer Season, get a better leap for Netball or start your Green & Gold Athletics journey.

The Little Athletics summer season early October to mid-March. Each Little Athletics Club runs a weekly meet. All of the Canberra based clubs and some NSW based clubs operate on a Saturday morning, however, a small number of NSW based club hold their events during the week.

All clubs cater for U6 to U17 with some also offering a Tiny Tots program for U4 and U5 years.

The focus of Little Athletics is on participation and learning the fundamental movements of running, jumping, throwing, walking and rolling. There is an event for everyone, and athletes have the chance to try them all out. Everyone is welcome to join, no matter their ability. Athletes stay with their age group for the course of the program and are supervised by their age-group manager who keeps the group together and takes athletes around the field to their events for the day.

As athletes get older, more events become available to try such as triple jump and high jump which are not suitable for younger age groups.
