The 3rd Summer Series meet of the 2023/24 season is on Saturday the 28th of October 2023 at the AIS Athletics Track.  This is a World Ranking Competition. 

 

Please note that the Walk events will be a STATE PERMIT ONLY.


For registered Capital Athletics, Dual Registered athletes and interstate registered athletes, please enter using your National ID number or login to your account.

On-Line Entry

The 2023/24 Summer Series On-Line Entry Fee is $15 per meet and this covers all events entered. This fee is payable at the time of event registration.

Please note that the age determination date for all athletes, other than Masters athletes, is 31st December 2023. The age determination date for Masters athletes is the date of the meet.

On-Line entry closes at 9:00pm on Thursday the 26th October 2023.  Please note that leaving your On-Line entry to the last few minutes may mean the system closes before you complete the entry process and make payment. To ensure you don't miss the 9pm cut off due to log in issues, please completed your on-line entry early. Contact the office before 5pm that business day if you have trouble registering, if this contact is not made you will have to complete an on-day entry form, with the on-day entry fee.

Athletes must Sign-In for all events entered at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the event/s.

Due to the limitations of the current athlete registration system, athlete registrations must be manually transferred to the On-Line entry system. This will be done as at 4:00pm each standard business day (ie Monday to Friday).  Athletes who complete their registration after 4:00pm will not be able to use the On-Line Meet entry system until after 4:00pm of the following business day.
 

On-Day Entry

On-Day entry is available for this Meet with the On-Day entry fee set at $30.  Payment can only be made by EFTPOS (Visa or Mastercard) only.  On-Day entries close 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the event.  The On-Day entry form is available at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, there will be print outs to fill in on the day of the event. 
 

Eligibility 

All athletes must be registered members of Capital Athletics or an athletics body affiliated with Athletics Australia.

The minimum age eligible to enter and compete in the Summer Series is U12, which is 11 years of age (as at 31st December 2023). Capital Athletics Athletes must be registered with a full-service club, senior only club or be a dual registered athlete with a little athletics only club.

Athletes aged 11 years and older as at 31 December 2023 will compete in the relevant age groups (Under 14, Under 16, Under 18, Under 20 and Open) with Masters registered athletes able to compete in the standard 5 year age brackets.

If you are a registered athlete, please ensure that you have selected the correct:

Capital Athletics Club (must have turned 11 before 31 December 2023); or if a non-Capital Athletics athlete, the correct State/Territory/Country.

Entry Process

Please note:  1 or more events may have entries closed off prior to the published close of entries if the number of entries taken for an event is determined to be excessive

When entering events, please ensure that you enter the seed performance relevant to the event being entered.  Please take careful note of the seed performance format.  All track events of 400 metres or more use a format of mm:ss.dd (eg '2:36.23' or 12:26.23').  If you do not use a valid seed performance format, the performance you have entered will be rejected on import to Meet Manager and, instead, it will be shown as 'NT' (ie No Time).

If you have an IPC classification, please enter it against the relevant question in the format "TxxFxx".

All Capital Athletics Meets are conducted in accordance with the current Capital Athletics Rules of Competition (Available at the bottom of the page).

Check-In and Close of On-Day Entries

Athletes who have entered On-Line must Check-In for each of the events that they have entered at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of that event unless otherwise specifically stated on that meets Program of Events.  An athlete can Check-In for all events that they have entered when they Check-In for their first event.  If an athlete fails to Check-In for an event by the close of the Check-In period, they will be removed from the event.  Please note that the Check-In close time is strictly enforced and no exceptions will be made.

On-Day entry closes 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of that event unless otherwise specifically stated on that meets Program of Events.  If an athlete fails to lodge an On-Day entry for an event by the close of the On-Day entry period, they will not be allowed to enter that event.  They may still enter events with a later scheduled start time.  Please note that this close time is strictly enforced and no exceptions will be made.

Athlete Check-In and On-Day entry form lodgement is done at the Administration area.  At the AIS, the Administration area is in the Commonwealth Room.  This is the building behind the stands and opposite the main straight finish line.  At the Woden venue, the Administration area is the ground floor room in the 2 story building opposite the main straight finish line.
 

Field Event Report Timeframe

Athletes who have entered a field event, witht he exception of Pole Vault, should report to the event site 15 minutes before the scheduled start time for the event.  Athletes who have entered the Pole Vault should report to the Pole Vault site 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the Pole Vault.

 

Shoe Declaration:

World Athletics has amended Rule 5 in relation to shoes worn in competition.

Athletics Australia requires all athletes competing in the Open and Under 20 age divisions (including Para) to submit a Shoe Declaration prior to their first National competition / Permit meet / Continental Tour meet for 2023/24. Once you have declared your shoes, the delcaration will be used for the remainder of Athletics in the ACT events this season. 

Example: If you are are 16yr old athlete compeitng in the Open or U20 age group then you need to comply with the Shoe Regulations.

Please note that World Athletics continually amend the Approved Shoe List as they complete their testing of shoes, therefore athletes should ensure they check this list on a regular basis.
